An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Facilities support Team Member at the Haynes International Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset. As one of the leading museums and visitor attractions in the South West, with over 125,000 visitors annually, you will be joining a dynamic and engaged team of over 120 staff and volunteers.
The Museum has over 400 vehicles and as a charity it has three core aims: Preservation, restoration and education. The Museum also operates several businesses that donate all of their profits to support these charitable aims; those businesses are:
• The Museum Workshop and Restoration Centre: We not only preserve and restore the Museum’s vehicle collection but we also offer those services to a local and international client base of veteran, vintage, classic and modern sports car owners
• Venue Hire: We offer one of the South West’s premier venue hire facilities, hosting conferences, events, exhibitions and functions throughout the year
• The Museum Shop: The Shop offers a vast selection of automobilia and will shortly be launching an online retail platform

Job Description: Facilities support Team Member

As a member of the Haynes Motor Museum team you will be expected to contribute to the provision of a quality service to meet company standards so that the reputation of the museum is maintained and enhanced at all times. You must also be able to carry out general maintenance and repairs in line with the planned maintenance schedule, as well as supporting the Venue hire team.

Personal Specification:
• You will be a team player, assisting other team members when necessary but must be confident and happy to work independently
• Must be organised and able to prioritise tasks required
• You will have experience of working in a team environment, with a natural aptitude for understanding and working together in a collaborative way
• You must be in good health as the job does involve heavy lifting
Health & Safety:
• You will be required  to adhere to the company’s Hygiene and Health and Safety policies at all times
• You will be expected to ensure that all storage areas are maintained in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
Main Duties:
• To ensure that all external and internal areas of the Museum are well maintained
• Carrying out inspections of key areas within the Museum
• Supporting the Venue Hire team with room set up’s
• Ensuring both the building and carpark areas are safe, clean and inviting at all times
• Basic tasks to include: plumbing, carpentry, painting and ground repairs

Key Skills:
• Enthusiastic attitude with attention to detail and a sense of pride and ownership.
• Some basic DIY/maintenance skills
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Presentable with a polite and helpful manner
• Able to work independently but take direction from others, work as part of a team to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is met at all times
• Must hold a full clean driving license due to location

40 hours per week 5 days out of 7 
Overtime is paid at basic rate
