On the 6^th March 2017 it was announced that PSA Group, the French company that owns both Peugeot and Citroën, has struck a €2.2 billion deal with General Motors to acquire its Opel/Vauxhall operations.  This follows on from a great many vehicle manufacturers joining forces over the years.
