Discovery

15th Nov 2016

A group of children from Child Okeford Primary School were extremely enthusiastic to take part in the Discovery Workshops during a recent education visit.  In groups of five, with a member of school staff, they were invited to guess the contents of the bag without actually looking inside, by feel only.  Once the item had been discovered they then set off into the Museum to solve a number of challenges.  These included: just which car had three windscreen wipers on the front windscreen?; which was the first car to actually have a windscreen wiper?; and how many cars could they find that had starting handles?  Competition between the groups encouraged them to solve their missions and to return to the Education Centre where they were rewarded with keyfobs.  A group of very tired children returned to school at the end of a very busy day at the Museum.
